What does my status mean?

Demystifying your profile status.

Your hackajob profile will go through different statuses as you use the platform. You can find the current status of your profile on the dashboard when you log in and in the top right-hand corner of most screens.

Below, we have explained the different types of profile status, which can explain why your profile is currently visible/not visible to employers:

Live

When your profile is Live, Archer is actively working for you.

This means:

  • Archer continuously reviews new roles and matches them to your experience and preferences

  • Matched roles appear in your Apply tab

  • Employers hiring through hackajob can view your profile

  • Companies can send you interview requests or application requests

If you receive an interview request, your personal contact details such as your phone number are only shared if you accept the request.

Your profile remains Live for up to 6 months. This helps ensure employers are contacting candidates who are genuinely open to new opportunities.

If you no longer want to be visible, you can switch your status to Off the Market at any time.

Live period completed

After 6 months, your profile automatically moves out of the Live state.

When this happens:

  • Archer pauses active matching

  • Employers can no longer view your profile or send requests

You can choose to go Live again if you are still looking for a role. If you do nothing, your profile will move to Off the Market.

Off the market

When your profile is Off the Market, it is invisible to employers and Archer does not match you to new roles.

You can still:

  • Log in and manage your account

  • Update your profile

  • Access blog content and resources

  • Complete optional challenges

This is useful if you’ve accepted a role or simply want to pause your search.

Back on the market

If you decide to return to the market, you’ll be asked to review and update your profile details before your profile becomes Live again.

This includes:

  • Your CV

  • Work experience

  • Salary expectations

  • Location and working preferences

  • Right to work information

Keeping this information accurate ensures Archer matches you to roles that reflect your current situation and expectations.

Once confirmed, your profile returns to Live, and matching resumes. If it's stuck in Back on the market status, your profile is still invisible to employers.
