How do I manage requests?
Here's how to effectively manage requests on hackajob.
Some companies on hackajob prefer to search matched profiles and reach out to candidates directly. When a company is interested in your profile, they can send you an interview request — this is different from the Apply flow, where you browse and apply to roles yourself. Here is how to manage those requests.
Checking your requests
When a company sends you an interview request, it will appear in your Requests tab.
It’s a good idea to check your account regularly. You can also adjust your notification settings to receive email or SMS alerts when you receive a new request.
Reviewing an interview request
Each request includes:
- The company profile
- The full job description
- Salary details
- Location and working style
- A message from the employer, where applicable
Take the time to read through the information carefully and make sure the role aligns with your expectations and career direction before accepting.
Accepting a request
If you decide to move forward, you can accept the request.
Depending on the company’s setup, you may:
- Choose from available interview time slots shown in a shared calendar
- Suggest your availability through a calendar view
If you are asked to suggest availability, propose as many suitable time slots as possible for the coming days. This increases the chances that the employer can select one quickly and helps avoid unnecessary back and forth.
Your contact details are only shared once you accept the request.
Declining a request
If the role is not a good fit, you can decline the request.
You may be asked to share a reason. This feedback helps improve the accuracy of future matches.
What about applications?
If you apply to a role through your Apply tab, it will be tracked there.
