Going back on the market or taking a break — managing your profile status

Learn how to switch your profile on or off the market, and what to expect at each step.

Are you ready to embark on a new job-seeking journey? We are thrilled to have you back on hackajob!

If your profile is currently Off the market, getting visible again is straightforward. From your Dashboard, click on your status and then click on the "Go back on the market" button. Before your profile goes Live, you will be asked to review and update your details, including your CV, work experience, salary expectations, location and working preferences and right to work information.

It is really important to complete all of these steps in full. If you exit the process before finishing, your profile will remain in an interim "Back on the market" status and will not be visible to employers until you have completed the review. Your profile needs to reach Live status to be seen by companies and to start receiving matches.

Once your profile is Live, Archer gets straight to work. He works 24/7 in the background, continuously reviewing new roles and matching them against your experience, preferences and expectations. Matched roles will appear in your Dashboard and Apply tab, and employers who see strong alignment with your profile can also reach out directly with interview requests.

Need to take a break from your search?

If you have landed a new role or simply need some time away from your job search, you can switch your profile to Off the market at any time. Just navigate to your Dashboard, click on your current status and select "Go off the market."

Once Off the market, your profile moves into stealth mode. Employers will no longer be able to see your profile or send you interview requests, and Archer will pause matching until you are ready again. But your account stays active and there is still plenty to explore. You can log in at any time to browse our resources, read career advice on our blog, or work through challenges in the Pathways tab.
